The International Institute for Holocaust Research

This transport was announced in the Daily Orders issued by the Jewish leadership on September 27, 1942, where it was claimed that the deportees would be sent to another ghetto. That morning, each inmate scheduled for transport was ordered to pack his or her belongings, and report to the quarantine site (“Schleuse”) at the courtyard of the Aussig Barracks. During quarantine, the Jewish leadership was able to intermittently arrange for provisions and supplies.
