Despite the German withdrawal on the Eastern front and the heavy aerial bombardment of German cities, the deportation of Jews from German cities did not stop. On December 18, 1943, a circular signed by Gestapo chief Heinrich Müller was sent out to all Sipo (Security Police) local headquarters. It permitted the deportation of Jews, whose marriage to non-Jews had terminated due to divorce or death of the non-Jewish spouse.

Transport No. 47f left Vienna’s Nordbahnhof (Northern Rail Station) on April 26, 1944, and arrived in Auschwitz-Birkenau on April 27. It consisted of 19 Jews. The average age of the deportees was 40. Two of were over 61.
Historian Danuta Czech notes in the Auschwitz chronicle that this was a group transport, consisting of Jews from various cities in Germany. Following a selection process carried out by the SS men, five Jews were sent to the camp. They were given the Nos.184312- 184316.
The remaining deportees were immediately murdered in the gas chambers.
